![]() ![]() I also found the characterizations appealing. All of that worked much better for me than the more instant attraction that resulted from the kiss, and I liked the pacing. It was understandable that he would want to know how to brew it, it laid a reasonable premise for Snape and Sirius to interact, I can imagine Snape being bullied into providing the lessons- and I actually found a lot of the 'brewing bits' quite interesting. Tying that to Sirius' lessons on brewing the wolfsbane potion worked well for me. First, I liked the structure of the story- taking it one day at a time over the course of the month. Thus I had trouble believing Sirius would follow through on a dare to kiss Snape, and I never really accepted that such a kiss could result in his subsequent infatuation.ĭespite my inability to buy the original attraction, I thought the story did some things really well. However, I know that after that book came out, an author would have to work awfully hard to convince me that Snape and Sirius feel anything other than hatred for each other. I do wonder if my reaction to the story would have been different if I'd read it pre-OotP. Sirius/Snape is a pairing I have a lot of trouble wrapping my brain around, but hey, if a story features Snape, I'm willing to give it a go. I read Repechage for the first time just last night, mostly so I could chat about it here.
